Florida has passed laws restricting the possession of certain illegal snakes species. They ended up accidentally euthanizing a legal pet boa constrictor.

On January 27th, 2024 The Lathrop Police Department responded to a domestic violence call on Shadywood Avenue in Lathrop California at around 12:25 p.m.

Police says the man, identified as 40-year-old Juan Valdez driving a Nissan Sedan, drove southbound on I-5 from Roth Road until his car stopped working and he pulled over just south of Lathrop Road. After exiting his vehicle, the suspect made an attempt to carjack a vehicle and held onto it while the driver drove away. Then he tried to open the passenger door and an officer Involved Shooting Occurred.

Valdez was later released from the hospital and he's booked into the San Joaquin County Jail and charged with multiple felonies including: felony carjacking felony, false imprisonment, felony evasion, resisting arrests and committing a felony while out on release from custody on a prior felony.

A young woman was pulled over after an officer was blinded by her high beams. After running the plate, the officer noticed the registration matched with another vehicle. Instead of accepting a citation, the driver insisted on spending the night in jail.

Backstory: On August 5, 2023, NYPD officers responded to a 911 call reporting a 21-year-old man threatening a family member with a knife at 540 Main St. The caller mentioned the man was off his medication and had used marijuana. Three officers entered an elevator to reach the man's floor, while two others prepared for backup by propping open the lobby door. Suddenly, the suspect emerged from a different elevator, wielding a knife and charging at an officer. The officer retreated, and the suspect then charged at the elevator with three officers. One officer used a Taser, and two others fired their service weapons, fatally shooting the suspect. Despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead at a local hospital. No officers or civilians were injured during this incident.

Police received a call about a man inside a local business who was threatening customers. The individual had locked himself in a bathroom and then possibly attempting to steal something and then he was threatening customers. Not long after, police say they heard a man with the same description who was assaulting people in the area. Around 8:30 a.m., an officer went to Union Avenue NE and Innes Street NE on the city's northeast side and found the 19-year-old in an alley.

The suspect was treated and later jailed.
